Home and Community Options presents
My Fair Lady

Lerner and Loewe’s My Fair Lady is that rare musical by which all others are measured. Eliza Doolittle is a young flower seller with an unmistakable Cockney accent which keeps her in the lower rungs of Edwardian society. When Professor Henry Higgins tries to teach her how to speak like a proper lady, an unlikely friendship begins to flourish.

Home and Community Options provides support and residential services to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live full lives in the community. These productions were established to support the needs of HCO in serving people with disabilities; they have become a part of local community life and bring together some of the strongest talent in the Winona area. HCO strives to provide a quality musical production that integrates individuals with disabilities into the performing arts as a means of enhancing life in our community for all.

The popularity of the Home and Community Options‘ musical productions continues to grow, providing high quality and family friendly performances to sell-out crowds year after year. While HCO’s yearly production acts as a fundraiser to assist them in providing much needed services, supplies, and equipment for those they support, its primary purpose is to promote the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in our daily lives. Participation in this community theater event as cast members, backstage crew members, and other volunteering roles behind the scenes helps those HCO serves build lasting relationships with their neighbors while gaining skills in independence and daily living. HCO’s musical is just one example that individuals with disabilities offer valued contributions to society.

Nature - Ellen Emerson Auditions @ Figliulo Recital Hall

The Page Theatre & TigerLion Arts Seek Girl Actor for Nature, a walking play

Character Description:
Seeking Girl Actor (age 8-10) to play Ellen Emerson (ELLY), Ralph Waldo Emerson’s spirited daughter, in TigerLion Arts’ outdoor walking play Naturerehearsing/performing at Saint Mary’s University September 4-8, 2019.

ELLY is a confident young girl who enjoys running through fields, chasing butterflies, doing cartwheels, spinning in circles, laughing, loving, and getting in trouble.

Performer should have a strong voice. Singing and dancing skills are a plus.

Show Details:
Do you love the idea of performing in an ensemble of professional actors? Does being outdoors invigorate you? This September, the Page Series and TigerLion Arts will present the beloved walking play Nature ~ the outdoor telling of Emerson, Thoreau and their mutual love of the natural world. This play is written and created by Minneapolis-based actor Tyson Forbes (a direct descendant of Ralph Waldo Emerson) and director/producer Markell Kiefer.

This is an incredible opportunity for a young aspiring actress (and her family) to be a part of a truly unique professional production and community of artists. It is possible that we will cast two actresses who alternate performances, to lessen the time commitment for participating families. The actress will participate in all on-site rehearsals, and receive script, video, and coaching (via Skype and/or in-person) in advance as well. This extraordinary piece is challenging and fulfilling both artistically and physically. The performing company is composed of a Minneapolis- based ensemble of professional actors and musicians, along with a locally recruited Community Chorus.

Please visit the Nature Website for more details, and photos and video of the production. Photos can also be found on TigerLion Arts’ Facebook page HERE.

Interested?
Auditions will be held from 4-6 pm on Monday, June 24.

Please email your inquiries, along with a photo, and a short bio or resume, to:

Registration is not required to audition, but is strongly recommended.
